Rabbi Marsha Jane gets wonderful reviews

Rabbi Marsha Jane has been busy this summer officiating weddings:  interfaith weddings; same sex weddings; interfaith same sex weddings ; Hindu-Jewish weddings; Jewish-Christian weddings.  Rabbi Marsha Jane has also had the honor to officiate funerals for Jewish and Interfaith families utilizing Jewish prayers and writing a eulogy that captures the essence of the deceased family member.

Rabbi Marsha Jane has spent a weekend in Cape May where she officiated a wedding for an amazing interfaith couple.  She was included at the rehearsal dinner and their families were so gracious and welcoming.  They even left a gift bag at the hotel where they booked for Rabbi Marsha Jane making her feel like a guest!!  That was so special.

Then Rabbi Marsha Jane headed to Akron Ohio for a family bar mitzvah.  Rabbi Marsha Jane was asked to read a prayer for Israel and she was delighted to be a part of this wonderful weekend and contribute in this way.

The next weekend Rabbi Marsha Jane officiated an interfaith same sex wedding in Philadelphia at a beautiful hotel in Old City.  She included in the ceremony some beautiful words about marriage and love from the Obergefell decision.  Here are those words:

From the Supreme Court’s opinion in Obergefell v. Hodges:

“The nature of marriage is that, through its enduring bond, two persons together can find other freedoms, such as expression, intimacy, and spirituality. This is true for all persons, whatever their sexual orientation…There is dignity in the bond between two men or two women who seek to marry and in their autonomy to make such profound choices…Marriage responds to the universal fear that a lonely person might call out only to find no one there. It offers the hope of companionship and understanding and assurance that while both still live there will be someone to care for the other…No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death.”

When Rabbi Marsha Jane is not busy officiating a wedding; a funeral or a baby naming; she is busy spending time with her couples and preparing their upcoming weddings.   Rabbi Marsha Jane spends many hours talking to her couples for many months (like six) before their wedding, preparing and creating a meaningful and personalized ceremony.

This past weekend Rabbi Marsha Jane conducted a graveside funeral for a family who lost a member suddenly.  Rabbi Marsha Jane feels these events are always an honor to be able to give the family and friends something that helps them to grieve for their loved one and to feel that they have done right by them.

Rabbi Marsha Jane will doing an interfaith baby naming with another clergy where we will do a Jewish baby naming – a B’rit Shalom – a welcoming covenant – and will add some Christian prayers as well for this interfaith family.

Rabbi Marsha Jane received some beautiful letters and emails thanking her.  These are included below:

Dear Rabbi Marsha Jane,

We want to share our heartfelt thanks for leading us through our wedding! Thank you for working with us to make our wedding special and helping it come to life. We appreciate all your efforts and patience throughout the process.

Wishing you all the best!

Best,

D and D

This wedding was at a beautiful arboretum outside of Philadelphia.  Another joy!

AND ANOTHER:

Hi Rabbi Marsha Jane,

We can’t thank you enough for your beautiful words and ceremony for us. So many of our guests said how wonderful you were, and you made our day so special for us and also our family and friends. The highest compliment I can give is that my dad would have loved our ceremony, which is a testament to you.

We have our license packed for our honeymoon, as you instructed!

All the best,

R and D

AND ANOTHER:

Rabbi Marsha Jane,

To say you set the tone perfectly for the rest of the wedding night would be an understatement! The ceremony was perfect, exactly what we were hoping for. We didn’t know what it would look like to have an interfaith ceremony, but you made it seamless from day 1.

You received rave reviews from our friends and family, as you highlighted the Jewish traditions in a digestible way with just the right amount of humor.

I am so glad our wedding planning process led us to you and I really hope to stay in touch!

Thank you for everything.

All the best,
M & C

And here is another:

To say Rabbi Marsha Jane set the tone perfectly for the rest of the wedding night would be an understatement! The ceremony was perfect, exactly what we were hoping for. We had an interfaith ceremony with an Episcopalian priest. We weren’t sure what it would look like to have an interfaith ceremony, but Rabbi Marsha made it seamless from day 1. Rabbi Marsha received rave reviews from our friends and family, as she highlighted the Jewish traditions in a digestible way with just the right amount of humor. I am so glad our wedding planning process led us to Rabbi Marsha and I recommend her to anyone looking to have an interfaith or Jewish ceremony.

Another another:

Rabbi Marsha, first of all let me say that everything was perfect and we so appreciate all of the time and effort you put into our ceremony. Not only did we find that it was a beautiful interfaith ceremony (and was everything we hoped for), all of our guests and family raved about how meaningful and touching the ceremony was. We have you to thank for that, so great job. We will absolutely keep in touch, and hope that you had a wonderful time in Philadlephia!

All the best,

T & D

AND MORE:

Hello Rabbi Marsha Jane .  Thank you again for a lovely ceremony yesterday and for your compassion I’ve received so much nice feedback about a lovely sendoff Stephanie received. I got a couple of questions about the names of the poems that you use and their authors. I’ve heard them before and they’re very meaningful but a couple of people wanted to have that information if you wouldn’t mind sharing it thanks again.

AND ANOTHER:

Gmorning Rabbi. Just want to say again that I thought the service for Stephanie, yesterday, was perfect. Just perfect. Anyone I spoke with felt the same.

One friend asked the name of the poem u read at end of service. I liked it very much too but think I only remember the name Michael having written it. Could u let me know?

And I was surprised, touched, honored to be sitting with Steph’s immediate family.

Rabbi Marsha Jane received a beautiful thank you card from one of the couples who wrote a review above.  The card said:

Dear Rabbi Marsha:

Thank you so very much for being an integral part of our special day.  Rabbi Marsha – we will always look back with great memories of the beautiful ceremony you put together.  Please stay in touch and enjoy the summer.

All the best,

M & C

How lucky Rabbi Marsha Jane feels to be able to meet and get to know all these wonderful people!!
