Weddings; Baby Namings; Celebration of Life; Funerals and more – Honeymoons!

Good morning –

Rabbi Marsha Jane married a lovely interfaith couple at the Wedding Sanctuary in Montclair, New Jersey.   It is a beautiful old church with wooden floors with beautiful inlays.  The Chuppah was beautiful – bride and groom were radiant and happy.  After the ceremony, I received this email from the groom:

Hi Rabbi Marsha,

We’ve had many guests tell us how wonderful our ceremony was – and you made it happen for us; Thank you so much. You created a relaxed atmosphere that allowed our love to shine through as we began creating our new home, wrapped in the traditions of Judaism.

I couldn’t’ve asked for more – it was a truly incredible experience. Thank you for all the advice and all you did for us.

Cheers,
Johnny Becker

Rabbi Marsha Jane feels incredibly lucky to have the honor of marrying all couples – traditional; non traditional; interfaith; interracial; LGBTQ couples – all with love and respect and joy!  We are all so lucky when we find love wherever we find it!!!   As the saying goes, love is love.  And there is nothing that helps all of our days go better than celebrating and sharing love with others.

Rabbi Marsha Jane also officiates funerals and celebration of life services.  It is always an honor for Rabbi Marsha Jane to get to know the passed family member and to help families to honor, grieve, and remember their beloved families.  Here are the beautiful comments Rabbi Marsha Jane received after officiating a graveside service for her parents:

Rabbi Marsha Jane transformed my parent’s graveside service into something special. She conducted the service with the utmost professionalism, grace, and caring. It ran smoothly and also had us be a part of the ceremony. As she talked about my parent’s lives, I felt she really understood the kind of people they were. Although it was still a sad event, she instantly put us all at ease, and we came away feeling that we’d given my parents the kind of sendoff we had hoped for, and the closure we needed. It was an honor to have her conduct the service. Everyone that attended commented on how wonderful it was. I highly recommend Rabbi Marsha for any event you may have. You will be glad you did.

Rabbi Marsha Jane looks forward to participating in another celebration of life at the end of next month for a beloved brother, father, father and friends.  Rabbi Marsha Jane enjoys spending time on the phone with family to get to know the “deceased” and to put together a service and make a eulogy that is meaningful for the family.  This celebration will take place in Long Island.

Rabbi Marsha Jane will also get the honor to name a beautiful little girl at the beginning of next month.  The mom wants to give a Hebrew name to honor her father of blessed memory.

Rabbi Marsha Jane got an email from a woman who is Jewish and who has been dating a non Jewish man for several years.  They are contemplating marriage and she wanted to have a conversation about some of the religious differences with raising children.  Her boyfriend cares as much for his traditions as she does for hers so Rabbi MArsha Jane discussed some of the issues and some possible ways to help share her traditions with him in the hope of convincing him to raise their future children Jewish.  We will continue to to talk.  Rabbi Marsha Jane also suggested that perhaps they go to a Shabbat service with him in a welcoming community.  Many Reform and Reconstructionist Synagogues are open communities where they welcome Jewish, interfaith; interracial; all people of color; LGBTQ families for worship and to be part of the community.
